To quote James Grashow, "I am an indiscriminate media user." Unbound from convention, driven by the Anthropocene and committed to consuming less in my day-to-day life and in my art practice.
The Anthropocene is defined as a planet transformed by humanity. In an age where our actions directly impact the planet, and electronic devices tend to discount and distract from these ever present dangers, I create work to address the fragility of our ecosystem.
My work may be described as hybrid art, fusing printmaking, painting, textiles, needlework, and soft sculpture. As humanity encroaches on the natural world, species will be sacrificed for our shopping malls, and diversity will dwindle. Hybrid art also connotes the eventual lack of gene diversity and the combination of different species.
